WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man of Ottawa was arrested on May 25th, 2022, on the strength of on outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the November 23rd, 2021, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. On May 25th, 2022, the man was in custody on unrelated matters and the warrant was executed. He was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the victim of his outstanding matters before the court.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A-35-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2022, on the strength of two outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on April 7th, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend for fingerprints, failed to do so, and a warrant was issued. It is also alleged that on May 17th, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court, failed to do so, and a warrant was issued. On May 25th, 2022, the man was located and the warrants were executed. He was released to appear in court on June 30th, 2022. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in his outstanding matters before the court.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – William King, 55, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 25nd, 2022, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2022, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed merchandise without making an attempt to pay for the items as he was leaving the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 25th, 2022, the man attended Police Headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 28th, 2022.

BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Thomas Cholette, 45, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 25th, 2022, and charged with breach of release order and breach of probation. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2022, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to sign into Cornwall Police Service Headquarters every Tuesday, and he failed to do so. He is also bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On May 25th, 2022, the man attended Police Headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 28th, 2022.

ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2022, and charged with assault and forcible confinement. It is alleged that on May 23rd, 2022, the youth confronted another youth in the washroom of a Second Street business, assaulted her, and would not allow her to leave. Police were called and an investigation ensued. On May 25th, 2022, the youth was located during an unrelated matter, was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Alexander Georges, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2022, and charged with assault. It is alleged that on April 24th, 2022, the man assaulted another man. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 25th, 2022, the man attended Police Headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 12th, 2022.

 IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Penny Pion, 58, of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2022, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. An investigation ensued, she was taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on June 23rd, 2022.

IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Valerie Lapierre-Champagne, 34, of Cornwall was arrested and charged with impaired operation and refusal. It is alleged that on May 25th, 2022, she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. An investigation ensued and the woman was taken into custody. During the investigation, the woman refused to provide a sample of her breath. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 17th, 2022.
