FAIL TO ATTEND COURT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Brett Benedict, 33, of St. Regis, QC was arrested on June 8th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court, as well as breach of probation for possessing a weapon and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 31st, 2022 the man failed to attend court and police were contacted to investigate. On June 8th, 2022, the man was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of knife, despite his conditions. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THREE MEN OF LASALLE, QC ARRESTED FOR FRAUD OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Bisaillon, 18, Marco Miranda Gomes da Silva, 18, and a 19-year-old man, all from Lasalle, Quebec, were arrested on June 8th, 2022 and charged as follows.

Jonathan Bisaillon:

  • Fraud under $5000
  • Unlawful use of credit card data
  • Utter forged document
  • Personation with intent

Marco Miranda Gomes da Silva:

  • Fraud under $5000
  • Unlawful use of credit card data

19-year-old man:

  • Fraud under $5000
  • Unlawful use of credit card data
  • Utter forged document
  • Breach of youth probation x 2 (for possessing credit card data and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on June 8th, 2022, the three males attended a local business to pick up purchases that had been made online, using credit cards that did not belong to them. It is further alleged one of the males identified as someone else in attempt to obtain the purchase. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the men were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for bail hearings. The name of the 19-year-old man was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is subsequently protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
