OBSTRUCT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Brian Cook, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on August 19th, 2022 and charged with obstruct police. It is alleged on August 19th, 2022, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man identified as someone else to police. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 29th, 2022.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 19th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on August 16th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a domestic mischief offence and police were contacted to investigate. On August 19th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 29th, 2022. His name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim in the matter.

FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 19th, 2022 and charged with fraud under $5000. It is alleged on August 17th, 2022, the man took cheques belonging to his sister and forged one of the cheques to obtain a quantity of money that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 19th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 22nd, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Leonard Quesnel, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on August 20th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on July 14th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 20th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant during a traffic stop. The warrant was executed and he was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Catherine Spurr, 27, of Summerstown, ON was arrested on August 20th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for failing to remain in her residence. It is alleged on August 20th, while police were conducting a traffic stop, the woman was located inside of a vehicle, despite the conditions of her release order. An investigation ensued and the woman was subsequently taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 4th, 2022.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 21st, 2022 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged on June 26th, 2022, the youth assaulted another youth known to him, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 21st, 2022, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Eric Wilson, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on August 22nd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on July 14th, 2022, the man took a bicycle from someone he did not know and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 22nd, 2022, police located the man and took him into custody on the strength of the warrant. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on September 22nd, 2022.
