ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 2nd, 2022 and charged with domestic assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-wife, the man assaulted her with a beer can and police were contacted to investigate. On September 2nd, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 27th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Vivek Kumar, 37, of Sarnia, ON was arrested on September 2nd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between May and August of 2021, the man repeatedly contacted a woman he did not know and made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 2nd, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED BY DRUG

Cornwall, ON – Matteas Thompson, 20, of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on September 2nd, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug. It is alleged on September 2nd, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 29th, 2022.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT, FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Lessard, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on September 3rd, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court, failing to attend for fingerprints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 10th, 2022, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints. It is further alleged on August 23rd, 2022, the man failed to attend court and an investigation ensued. On September 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 13th, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brendan Jacobs-Thompson, 27, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 3rd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on August 11th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 3rd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with breach of release order for contacting his ex-common-law wife and being within a certain distance of her. It is alleged on April 16th, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend, prevented her from leaving an area of the residence, as well as made threats to kill the woman’s family. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on September 3rd, 2022, the man contacted his ex-common-law wife and had attended her residence, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Michael Somerstein, 65, of Longueuil, QC was arrested on September 3rd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 25th, 2022, the man made threats to kill someone he did not know and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Lori McConkey, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on September 3rd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on April 28th, 2022, the woman failed to abide by her probation order and release order by not notifying a change of address. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On September 3rd, 2022, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 13th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 57-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 4th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged on September 4th, 2022, the woman assaulted her boyfriend and damaged a window in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 27th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Nicholas O’Connor, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on September 5th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on September 7th, 2021, the man failed to attend court for an assault offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 5th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 13th, 2022.
