THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Michael Dickenson, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 23rd, 2022, the man took a bicycle from someone he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. On September 9th, 2022, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

FLIGHT FROM POLICE, DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – Tekonwasterihatah Ransom, 38, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 9th, 2022 and charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on August 18th, 2022, while police were conducting a traffic stop, the woman fled in her vehicle from police and was operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner. On September 9th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

MAN CHARGED WITH 21 OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – Douglas Bienkowski, 31, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 9th, 2022 and charged with the following offences:

• Carrying a concealed weapon x 2
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition x 7
• Use of imitation firearm while committing offence
• Use of firearm while committing offence
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
• Possession of a Schedule I substance (fentanyl)
• Resist police officer
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
• Flight from police
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

It is alleged on July 27th, 2022, the man was operating a vehicle in a dangerous manner, when police conducted a traffic stop. The man then fled from police in his vehicle and an investigation ensued. On September 9th, 2022, police located the man and took him into custody after a brief struggle, at which time he was found to be in possession of a handgun, a replica handgun, cocaine, fentanyl, as well as a quantity of Canadian currency. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jessie Snider, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of release order for attending the City of Cornwall. It is alleged on September 9th, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were subsequently contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 9th, 2022 and charged with domestic mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 9th, during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, the man attended her residence and damaged a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 13th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Laurent Lauzon, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2022 and charged with two counts of uttering threats, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 2nd, 2022, the man made threats to kill someone known to him, as well as burn down the residence of the victim. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 10th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Kirk Beckstead, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2022 and charged with three counts of fraud under $5000. It is alleged on three occasions between May and June 2022, the man accepted a quantity of money in return for a service he indicated he would provide, but never provided the service for the victim’s. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 10th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 13th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 10th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on September 10th, 2022, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Cassidy Honsinger, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2022 and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on September 10th, the individual assaulted a 17-year-old youth, who they did not know, with a knife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the individual was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. It should be noted the youth did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Brody Weaver, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2022 and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. On September 10th, 2022, police were called to investigate a weapons complaint, where the man had allegedly been firing a gun. Police attended and located the man in possession of an airsoft gun. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2022.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM (CHOKING)

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 11th, 2022 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged on August 8th, 2022, during an altercation with his wife, the man choked her and police were contacted to investigate. On September 11th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 27th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
