ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Jarritt Massia-Leger, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on September 17th, 2022 and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on September 17th, 2022, the man had been using a pellet gun in the direction of multiple individuals. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 27th, 2022. 

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Andre Fontaine, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on September 17th, 2022 and charged with breach of probation for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 17th, 2022, the man was located in a Ninth Street business, despite having conditions to not attend. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 25th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law-wife, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 11th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his wife, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 11th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Moore, 45, of Chesterville was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, being methamphetamine. It is alleged on September 18th, 2022, police were called to respond to a suspicious person in a motor vehicle, and subsequently located a quantity of methamphetamine visible with the man inside of the vehicle. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with uttering threats, as well as breach of probation for possessing weapons and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend, the man made threats to damage the woman’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a knife, hatchet and slingshot, despite his conditions to not possess any weapons. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Mark Thomas, 62, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with operation while prohibited and breach of probation for operating a motor vehicle and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 18th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so, while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 27th, 2022.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Mohammed Chughtai, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on August 11th, 2022, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On September 18th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT

Cornwall, ON – Kimberly Laird, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on September 18th, 2022 and charged with two counts of fraud under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime and uttering a forged document. It is alleged on September 8th and 9th, the woman had requested that someone known to her deposit two fraudulent cheques and provide her with a quantity of cash from their bank account. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 18th, 2022, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 27th, 2022.

POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CAUSING A DISTURBANCE

Cornwall, ON – Waniente Angus, 31, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 19th, 2022 and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing a disturbance. It is alleged during the early morning hours on September 19th, 2022, the man had been causing a disturbance outside of a Montreal Road business while in possession of a knife. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 27th, 2022.
