ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on September 23rd, 2022, and charged with assault. It is alleged that on September 23rd, 2022, the youth pushed a female to the ground and struck her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The identity of the youth was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREACH OF YCJA PROBATION
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth was arrested on September 23rd, 2022, and charged with breach of youth probation. It is alleged that on September 23rd, 2022, the youth was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to abide by a curfew. On this date, a member of Community Patrol located the youth outside of the curfew set out by the probation officer. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. The youth’s name was not released as per the provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, ON – Steven Hopps, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on September 24th, 2022, and charged with break and enter. It is alleged that on September 24th, 2022, the man broke into a residence and took property. He was located by the occupants of the residence in the entrance of the dwelling with their property in his possession. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF, BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on September 24th, 2022, and charged with assault, mischief, and three counts of breach of release order. It is alleged that on September 24th, 2022, the man was bound by a release order to reside at a certain address, notify the bail supervision program of any change of address, and to notify a member of CPS of any change of address. It is also alleged that on this date, the man struck his wife and pulled her hair, attempted to choke her, and smashed her cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Investigation revealed the man resided at a new address and did not notify the bail supervision program or a member of CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Ashton Page-Cholette, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on September 25th, 2022, and charged with assault. It is alleged that on August 21st, 2022, the man assaulted another male. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 25th, 2022, police responded to an unrelated incident and located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.
BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, ON – Barbara Cleary, 73, of no fixed address was arrested on September 25th, 2022, and charged with two counts of breach of probation. She was then arrested later in the day and charged with a further two counts of breach of probation.
It is alleged that on September 25th, 2022, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to remain in her residence if she’s consumed alcohol. On this date, police responded to a complain of an unwanted person. Investigation revealed the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.
Later on the same day, police responded to a second complaint of an unwanted person. Upon police arrival, the woman was located and began consuming alcohol in the presence of the officer. She was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
FRAUD UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Shelley Champagne, of Cornwall, was arrested on September 25th, 2022, and charged with fraud under $5000. It is alleged on August 20th, 2022, the woman made multiple transactions on a credit card that did not belong to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 25th, 2022, the woman contacted police to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear on November 10th, 2022.
