THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Adam Secord, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on October 3rd, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on September 26th, 2022, the man took a quantity of money that did not belong to him from a local business and police were contacted to investigate. On October 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 10th, 2022.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Matthieu Brunet, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on October 3rd, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on October 1st, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 10th, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Ottawa man was arrested on October 3rd, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man had contacted his ex-common-law wife and changed addresses, despite the conditions of his undertaking and release order and police were contacted to investigate. On October 3rd, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old and 15-year-old youth, both from Cornwall, were arrested on September 28th and October 3rd, 2022 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. The 13-year-old was also charged with uttering threats. It is alleged on September 27th, 2022, the two parties assaulted another youth known to them, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 28th, the 15-year-old youth was taken into custody and on October 3rd, the 13-year-old was taken into custody. Both were charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
