ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Darrell Herne Jr., 32, of Cornwall was arrested on October 4th, 2022 and charged with assault. It is alleged on October 4th, 2022, the man assaulted someone known to him during an altercation and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF X 4, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 4th, 2022 and charged with four counts of domestic mischief, as well as assault with a weapon and criminal harassment. It is alleged between October 1-2, 2022, the man assaulted his ex-common-law wife with a statue, causing damage to it, as well as damaged picture frames and clothing items belonging to the victim. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 4th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 25th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Joseph Leclair, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on October 4th, 2022 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged between May and June of 2013, the man forged a quantity of cheques to obtain additional money than what he was entitled to. It is further alleged on August 30th, 2018, the man took a quantity of money from someone known to him without their permission. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On October 4th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on November 1st, 2022.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000 X 2

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 4th, 2022 and charged with two counts of mischief under $5000. It is alleged on September 23rd, 2022, the youth damaged tires on two vehicles that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 4th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Wilson, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on October 5th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with breach of release order for failing to notify a change of address to police. It is alleged in September, the man breached his probation order and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. It is further alleged the man had changed his address and failed to notify police. An investigation ensued and on October 5th, 2022, he was taken into custody during a traffic stop. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Rohma Chaudhary, 50, of Ottawa was arrested on October 5th, 2022 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged while at the Cornwall Community Hospital on October 4th, 2022, the woman damaged two swipe card devices and police were contacted to investigate. On October 5th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 15th, 2022.
