DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, TRAFFICK IN A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 29th, 2022 and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault x 2
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Traffick in a Schedule I substance (cocaine)

It is alleged between 2018 and October 2022, the man had assaulted and choked his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On December 29th, 2022, he was taken into custody during a traffic stop, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested on December 29th, 2022 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with her boyfriend, the woman struck him with a purse and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 24th, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Lynda Parent, 57, of Cornwall was arrested on December 30th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on December 30th, 2022, the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 31st, 2022 and charged with domestic assault and uttering threats. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law-wife on March 30th, 2022, the man assaulted her and further made threats to kill her on December 29th, 2022. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 24th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 31st, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with her common-law-husband, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 26th, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000, PERSONATION WITH INTENT TO AVOID ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Lalonde, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on December 31st, 2022 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court. She was also charged with theft under $5000 and personation with intent to avoid arrest. It is alleged on December 13th, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for a fraud offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. It is further alleged on December 31st, 2022, she attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, at which time she identified as somebody else to police. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 9th, 2023.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Cameron Paul, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on January 1, 2023 and charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged during a traffic stop during the early morning hours on January 1st, the man was located away from his residence, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 1, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and assault cause bodily harm. It is alleged during an altercation with his wife on January 1st, the man assaulted her and choked her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 24th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man of no-fixed-address was arrested on January 1, 2023 and charged with three counts of breach of probation for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 6th, 2022, the man had attended the residence of his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On January 1, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FAIL TO ATTEND COURT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 1, 2023 and charged with failing to attend court, domestic assault and breach of release order and undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 21st, 2022 for a previous fail to attend court offence. It is further alleged on January 1, 2023, the man had contact with his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Cornwall, ON – Miranda Mertes, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on January 2, 2023 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on December 22nd, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for a previous fail to attend court offence and police were contacted. On January 2nd, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 9th, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 2, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with his wife, the man assaulted her and damaged a railing in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 24th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 3rd, 2023 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on January 3rd, the man assaulted his girlfriend during an argument and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 24th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM X 2

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 3rd, 2023 and charged with two counts of domestic assault and two counts of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged between October 2022 and January 3, 2023, the man assaulted and choked his wife on two occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
