FRAUD UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF STOLEN ARTICLE FROM MAIL, DRAWING DOCUMENT WITHOUT AUTHORITY

Cornwall, ON – Ethan Roy, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2023 and charged with fraud under $5000, possession of article stolen from mail and drawing document without authority. It is alleged on November 10th, 2020, the man took a cheque belonging to someone he did not know from the victim’s mail, and deposited it into his own bank account. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 17th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Tia Colborne, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on November 29th, 2022 for a fraud offence and on January 12th, 2023 for an impaired offence. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for her arrest. On January 17th, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Natasha Parent, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on January 12th, 2023 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 17th, 2023, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 9th, 2023.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – John Branchaud, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon and resist police. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him on January 17th, 2023, he assaulted the victim with a bat and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING X 2

Cornwall, ON – Mathieu Duplante, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on January 18th, 2023 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 8th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business on two occasions and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store on either occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 18th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Ottawa man was arrested on January 18th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during the month of March 2022, the man sent a photo of his genitals to a person under the age of 16, who had been a close friend of the victim’s family. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 18th, 2023, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Ottawa as the man was taken into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2023. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Megan Gregoire, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on January 18th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 18th, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 18th, 2023 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged during an altercation with his mother on January 18th, the youth damaged walls in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 70-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on January 18th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on January 18th, during an altercation with her husband, the woman assaulted him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 7th, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
