WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court on January 17th, 2023. He was also charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 27th, 2022, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 23rd, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Andre Fontaine, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on January 17th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 23rd, 2023, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Darrell Herne, 33, of Ottawa was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on December 5th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for an assault offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 23rd, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 64-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 and charged with domestic assault, mischief and resist police. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law-wife on January 22nd, 2023, the man assaulted her and damaged a clock in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 23rd, 2023, the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 21st, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Viet Dang, 46, of Ottawa was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 10th, 2022 for a theft of motor vehicle offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 23rd, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Couto, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on January 24th, 2023 on the strength of multiple warrants. He was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged between October 2022 and January 12th, 2023, the man took bank cards that did not belong to him and unlawfully used them to perform transactions. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 24th, 2023, police located the man during the early morning hours, in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on February 28th, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 23rd, 2023 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on January 23rd, 2023, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
