WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Shane Gougeon, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on March 14th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during a traffic stop on November 27th, 2022, the man was observed outside of his residence, despite the hours of his curfew, and had been consuming alcohol, despite his conditions. During the investigation, the man further identified as someone else to police with intent to avoid arrest. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On March 14th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Michael Dickson, 63, of Cornwall was arrested on March 14th, 2023 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with a man casually known to him, he assaulted the man and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Michel Lecompte, 65, of Cornwall was arrested on March 14th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and two counts of breach of release order and two counts of breach of probation order, both for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 14th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business, despite his conditions, and removed merchandise without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2023.
