Cornwall, ON – Andrew Lalonde-Lavigne, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on March 28th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on November 23rd, 2021 for a previous fail to attend court offence, as well as on November 29th, 2021 for an operation while prohibited offence and warrants were issued for his arrest. On March 28th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2023.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM X 4, DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Newington man was arrested on March 28th, 2023 and charged with four counts of assault causing bodily harm, as well as domestic assault. It is alleged between March 2022 and March 2023, during various altercations with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her, causing injuries to the woman, as well as choked her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 28th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANTS, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Louis Delorme, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on March 28th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. He was also charged with theft of motor vehicle, mischief under $5000 and breach of probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in October 2022, the man took a vehicle that did not belong to him and failed to attend court on February 9th, 2023 for a break and enter offence. It is further alleged on November 10th, 2023, the man took another vehicle that did not belong to him and damaged the windshield wipers. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest.
On March 28th, 2023, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Ottawa as the man was taken into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrants. The warrants were executed and the man was charged accordingly. He was held in custody to await a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Amanpal Hundal, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on March 28th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80 and mischief under $5000. It is alleged on March 28th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and subsequently had entered into an altercation with individuals known to him. During the altercation, the man allegedly damaged the concrete parging around the victim’s basement window. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 20th, 2023.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME
Cornwall, ON – James McCormick, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on March 28th, 2023 and charged with criminal harassment, theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on March 28th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business and had been repeatedly following a woman he did not know throughout the store. Police were contacted and took the man into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of items taken from the store, having made no attempt to pay for the items. He was charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.
