DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON x 2
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 13th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and two counts of assault with a weapon. It is alleged on April 1st, 2023, during an altercation with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her. A friend of the victim attempted to assist the woman, at which time the man struck the friend with two weapons. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 13th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
Cornwall, ON – An 80-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 13th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on July 9th, 2019, the man failed to attend court for a domestic-related offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 13th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023. His name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and may identify the victim in the matter.
Cornwall, ON – Mathieu Duplantie, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on April 13th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on April 12th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 13th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.
