POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Morgan McCreary, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, being cocaine, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 23rd, 2023, police were responding to a suspicious person complaint and located the woman to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 1st, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Amanda MacMillan, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her probation order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On June 23rd, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, RESIST POLICE, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Harry Philippou, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Resist police
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - Cocaine
  • Breach of probation x 4 (for possessing a weapon and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on June 10th, 2023, the man forced his way into the residence of someone he did not know and removed two wallets. It is further alleged on June 20th, the man assaulted someone he did not know with an edged weapon and police were contacted. On June 23rd, 2023, police located the man, at which time he resisted police. He was subsequently taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and a knife. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Sullivan, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 and charged with breach of release order for failing to report to her bail supervision program. It is alleged on June 9th, 2023, the woman failed to report to her bail supervision program, despite her conditions, and police were contacted. On June 23rd, 2023, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the woman was in custody on an unrelated matter. She was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 and charged with six counts of breach of release order for contacting his common-law-wife, being within a certain distance of her, failing to reside at a certain address and failing to notify a change of address to police. It is alleged on June 21st and June 23rd, 2023, the man attended his spouse’s residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. On June 23rd, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 23rd, 2023 and charged with domestic mischief and breach of release order for contacting his common-law-wife and being within a certain distance of her. It is alleged on June 23rd, 2023, the man attended his spouse’s residence and an altercation ensued, at which time he damaged her car. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON - Dushan Prpich, 67, of Cornwall was arrested on June 24th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to comply with demand. It is alleged on June 24th, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when he struck a median in the area of Fourteenth Street. During the investigation, the man refused to provide a sample of his breath to police. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 18th, 2023.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2023 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 5th, the man assaulted his mother and threw a knife at her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 24th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 1st, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING

Cornwall, ON – Damian MacDermid, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on June 24th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. He was also charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2 (hash)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2 (Adderall and Percocet)
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking (Clonazepam)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (Heroin)

It is alleged on May 25th, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and further failed to attend court on June 15th, 2023 for a robbery offence and warrants were issued for his arrest. On June 24th, 2023, police located the man, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of illicit cannabis, Adderall and Percocet pills, Clonazepam pills and heroin. The warrants were executed and he was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Maria Zwicker, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on June 25th, 2023 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on May 3rd, 2023, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On June 25th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING X 2, THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – Mathieu Duplantie, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on June 25th, 2023 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and one count of theft from motor vehicle. It is alleged on June 22 and June 23, 2023, the man attended two businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. It is further alleged on June 24th, 2023, the man entered a vehicle that did not belong to him and removed a quantity of cash. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 25th, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on June 25th, 2023 and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with her mother, she assaulted the woman and struck her with a shoe. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 1st, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Justin Dufresne, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on June 25th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on June 9th, the man assaulted someone known to him with a baton and police were contacted to investigate. On June 25th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 1st, 2023.
