WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 26th, 2023 on the strength of three warrants. It is alleged on November 21st, 2022, May 2023 and June 11th, 2023, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions. In November, the man damaged at window at her residence, and in May and June, the man assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On June 26th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Laura Buckley, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on June 26th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on June 20th, 2023 for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On June 26th, 2023, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 26th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 22nd, 2023, the youth failed to attend court for a threats offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On June 26th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Brian Smith, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on June 26th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 21st, 2023, the man attended a Fourth Street organization and removed fencing that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 26th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 1st, 2023.

YOUTH ARRESTED & CHARGED WITH NINE OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 26th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon x 2
  • Robbery with a weapon x 2
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Assault police
  • Resist police
  • Breach of undertaking (for attending a certain address)

It is alleged on June 26th, 2023, the youth took two bicycles from individuals known to him while brandishing a knife. He is further alleged to have brandished the knife in the direction of two other individuals who were present. Police attended and took the youth into custody after a brief struggle and found him to be in possession of a concealed knife. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ARTHUR STREET OPERATION

Cornwall, ON - On the morning of June 27th, 2023, members of the Cornwall Police Service were conducting an investigation in the area of Arthur Street and Lennox Street, resulting in heavy police presence. At approximately 10:20 am, the operation had safely concluded. The Cornwall Police Service would like to thank members of the public for their patience during the investigation. Further details on the outcome of the investigation will be shared at a later time.
