MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH 13 SEXUAL OFFENCES  

Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 11th, 2023 and charged with the following:

1. Sexual assault x 3
2. Sexual exploitation x 2
3. Voyeurism x 2
4. Make child pornography
5. Possession of child pornography
6. Administer noxious thing x 2
7. Overcome resistance by administering a drug x 2

It is alleged between 2012-2020, the man administered a stupefying drug to his step-daughter and sexually assaulted the female while she was between the ages of 16-24. The man is also alleged to have taken intimate photos of the female without her knowing. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 11th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 15th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Shelley Champagne, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on July 12th, 2023 on the strength of three warrants. It is alleged on April 6th, 2023 and April 20th, 2023, the woman failed to attend court and further failed to attend for fingerprints on April 20th. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for her arrest. On July 12th, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 12th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on July 5th, 2023, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. On July 12th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 10th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 12th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. It is alleged on July 12th, the youth assaulted his mother with a cane and made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The name of the youth was not released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
