SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Loveless, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on June 20th, the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 20th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 24th, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 20th, 2023 and charged with uttering threats and domestic assault. It is alleged on July 20th, the man assaulted his girlfriend and made threats to further harm her. Police were contacted and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 8th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – Sylvie Avon, 56, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2023 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged that the woman repeatedly contacted someone known to her, despite being warned to stop. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 20th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Raven Thompson-MacDonald, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on July 14th, 2023, the woman took a quantity of change from a McConnell Avenue business and police were contacted. On July 20th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.

TWO OTTAWA INDIVIDUALS CHARGED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING OFFENCES DURING TRAFFIC STOP

Cornwall, ON – Liam Gill, 18, and Kassandra Mercier, 24, both of Ottawa, were arrested on July 20th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – Psilocybin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2 – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance x 3 – Methamphetamine

Liam Gill was also charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug.

It is alleged on July 20th, while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry, the man was observed to be operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drug. Additionally, during a search of the motor vehicle a quantity of methamphetamine and psilocybin was located. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man and woman were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.
