WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Painson, 23, of Ottawa, was arrested on July 21st, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on June 10th, 2023, the man entered a residence without permission of the occupant and took a quantity of items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 21st, 2023, the man was in custody for an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

ROBBERY, MISCHIEF, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Mercedes Lague, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested July 21st, 2023, and charged with robbery, mischief under $5000 and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on July 17th, 2023, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. On this date, she attended a Water Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay for it. When confronted, she assaulted a staff member of the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. It is also alleged that on July 19th, 2023, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior. On this date, the woman caused damage to municipal property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 21st, 2023, the woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.

MISCHIEF, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Joseph Lepage, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 21st, 2023, and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation. It is alleged that on July 19th, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. On this date, it is alleged the man caused damage to municipal property. On July 21st, 2023, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Harlen Edwards, 42, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 21st, 2023, and charged with one count of theft under $5000 and breach of probation. It is alleged that on July 21st, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is also alleged that on this date, the man attended a Water Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 21st, 2023, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2023.

ASSAULT POLICE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – Kayla Ingram, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 22nd, 2023, and charged with one count of assaulting peace officer. It is alleged that on July 22nd, 2023, police were present for an unrelated matter and the woman assaulted an officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.

BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – Yves Cote, 42, of Green Valley, was arrested on July 22nd, 2023, and charged with one count of breach of release order. It is alleged that between May 24th and June 21st, 2023, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to sign in to CPS by phone every Wednesday and failed to do so. An investigation ensued. On July 22nd, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old woman, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 22nd, 2023, and charged with one count of mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on July 22nd, 2023, the woman damaged her boyfriend’s property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 11th, 2023. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on July 22nd, 2023, and charged with one count of break and enter. It is alleged that on July 22nd, 2023, the youth entered a residence without permission from the occupants and took a quantity of items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 22nd, 2023, the youth was located, taken into custody, charged in accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Robin Tortsi, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 23rd, 2023, and charged with impaired operation, over 80, and three counts of uttering threats. It is alleged that on July 23rd, 2023, the woman was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol and threated to cause harm to two people known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. While under investigation, the woman threatened to disarm an officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

CAUSING A DISTRUBANCE, POSESSION OF SCHEDULED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Calvin Ceasor, 35, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 24th, 2023, and charged with causing a disturbance and possession of a scheduled substance. It is alleged that on July 24th, 2023, the man caused a disturbance and was taken into custody. During the arrest, a quantity of a scheduled substance was located. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.

OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Jeffrey Leblanc, 33, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 24th, 2023, and charged with one count of obstruct peace officer. It is alleged that on July 24th, 2023, the man attempted to interfere with a police investigation. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.
