BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth was arrested on July 24th, 2023, and charged with six counts of breach of release order. It is alleged that on July 24th, 2023, the youth was bound by three separate release orders. The first order had the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The second order had the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior, and to not contact or communicate with a certain individual. The third order had the relevant conditions to remain in his residence during a certain time period, not to communicate with a certain individual, and not be within 100 meters of that person. On this date, the man was located outside of his residence during the time he was prohibited from leaving, and was with the individual he was prohibited from communicating with or being within 100 meters of. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ROBBERY, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Dakota Marini, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 24th, 2023, and charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, and breach of probation. It is alleged on July 8th, 2022, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is also alleged that on this date, the male approached another individual and took an item without permission. When confronted, the man brandished a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 24th, 2023, the man was in custody for an unrelated matter, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Layla Bush, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 24th, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on April 3rd, 2023, the woman was in possession of a quantity of restricted firearms for the purpose of transferring them. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 24th, 2023, the woman attended the port of entry and was taken into custody by Border Services Officers. Police attended and executed the warrant. She was released to appear in court on August 29th, 2023.
