WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Timothy MacInnis, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on July 28th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged on May 4th, 2021, the man failed to attend court for a theft of motor vehicle offence, as well as failed to attend for fingerprints on March 4th, 2021. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On July 28th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.

WARRANT, FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shawnna Chartrand, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on July 28th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. She was also charged with failing to attend for fingerprints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 17th, 2023, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. It is further alleged on July 27th, 2023, the woman failed to attend court for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 28th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 28th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting a certain person. It is alleged on July 28th, the youth was observed in the company of someone he has conditions of no contact with and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 28th, 2023 and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 27th, the woman assaulted her mother’s boyfriend and police were contacted. On July 28th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 23rd, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from St. Andrews West was arrested on July 28th, 2023 and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. It is alleged on July 28th, during an altercation with a 20-year-old man known to him, he assaulted the man with an edged weapon, causing an injury that required medical attention. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries; however, are no longer deemed critical. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Richard Mayer, 76, of Cornwall was arrested on July 28th, 2023 and charged with operation while impaired over 80. It is alleged during a RIDE program on the evening of July 28th, the man was observed to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 15th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 24, of no-fixed-address was arrested on July 28th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 20th, he attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 28th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2023.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Kanonhiio David, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on July 29th, 2023 and charged with operation while impaired and over 80. It is alleged during the early morning hours on July 29th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when he struck two light poles in the area of Water Street and York Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 15th, 2023.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 29th, 2023 and charged with assault with a weapon, as well as breach of undertaking for contacting his girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 29th, the man assaulted his girlfriend with a skateboard and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 29th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 5th, 2023, the man failed to abide by his release order by contacting his girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, attending her residence and failing to abide by his curfew. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 29th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 29th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on November 15th, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for a domestic assault offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 29th, 2023, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2023. Her name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 30th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and domestic mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her and damaged a door in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 22nd, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 30th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on July 30th, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 5th, 2023 His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Long Sault was arrested on July 30th, 2023 and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 30th, the youth assaulted a taxi driver and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
