DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 15th, 2023 and charged with two counts of domestic assault. It is alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend on two occasions and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 5th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 15th, 2023 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on June 29th, the youth damaged a window at the residence of someone known to him and police were contacted. On August 15th, 2023, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on August 16th, the man assaulted her, causing injuries that required medical attention. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 2, BREACH X 2

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, as well as two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting her boyfriend and being within a certain distance of him. It is alleged on August 16th, 2023, the woman assaulted her boyfriend with a cane and a knife during an altercation. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
