CPS CONDUCTS TAXI SAFETY INITIATIVE
Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) recently conducted a coordinated taxi inspection initiative aimed at enhancing public safety and ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and municipal regulations governing commercial passenger transportation.
Officers focused on vehicle safety, driver documentation, licensing requirements, and overall compliance to help ensure that residents and visitors can rely on safe and properly regulated transportation services.
This initiative reflects the CPS’ ongoing commitment to enhancing community safety through proactive enforcement, strong partnerships and collaborative problem-solving. By working together, our members continue to achieve meaningful outcomes that directly benefit the public while supporting the Service’s organizational priorities.
“We are committed to taking a proactive approach to traffic and public safety,” said S/Sgt. George Knezevic. “Initiatives such as these demonstrate the value of collaboration and our dedication to ensuring commercial passenger vehicles operating in our community meet the required safety and regulatory standards.”
The CPS will continue to conduct targeted traffic safety and compliance initiatives throughout the year as part of its ongoing efforts to improve road safety and strengthen public confidence.
CPS MISSION: A trusted police service partnering with our community for a positive impact on safety and wellbeing in Cornwall.
