THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – James McCormick, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on July 25th, 2022, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on June 2nd, 2022, the man attended an Eleventh Street business, selected merchandise, and left without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located on July 25th, 2022, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and was released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.

ASSAULT, CHOKING

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on July 25th, 2022, and was charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on June 22nd, 2022, the man punched and choked a woman that was known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 25th, 2022, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 25th, 2022. His name was not released as it could identify the victim in this matter.

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Chantal Morin, 59, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 26th, 2022, and charged with three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on July 26th, 2022, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to communicate with a certain individual, and to not be within 100 meters if a certain individual. On this same date, it is alleged that the woman attended the workplace of the individual she was prohibited from contacting and communicated with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 6th, 2022.

BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on July 26th, 2022, and charged with 6 counts of breaching a release order. The woman is bound by a release order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to communicate with her ex-boyfriend, and not to attend her ex-boyfriend’s residence. On July 18th 2022, it is alleged that the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence and attempted to communicate with him. Furthermore, it is alleged that on July 26th, 2022, the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence and attempted to communicate with him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 26th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
