BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER AND PEACE BOND

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on June 30th, 2023, and charged with one count of breach of peace bond and one count of breach of release order. It is alleged that on June 26th, 2023, the youth was bound by a peace bond with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior and a release order with the relevant condition to notify CPS of within 24 hours of any change of address. On June 26th, 2023, police were contacted for an unrelated matter and the investigation revealed the youth had moved and not notified CPS of her address change. On June 30th, 2023, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on June 30th, 2023, and charged with one count of mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on June 29th, 2023, the youth attended a park in the west end and spray painted a building. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jayden Peloquin, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 1st, 2023, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on July 1st, 2023, the man was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 13th, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON  - A 44-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on July 1st, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on August 18, 2022, the man struck his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 1st, 2023, the man was located and the warrant was executed. He was held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Mark Menard, 59, of Lunenburg, was arrested on July 1st, 2023, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on July 1st, 2023, the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 18th, 2023.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 24, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 2nd, 2023, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on March 7th, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without making any attempt to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 2nd, 2023, the man returned to the store and was recognized by staff. Police were contacted and the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 10th, 2023.

WARRANT, BREACH OF PROBATION AND RELEASE ORDER

Cornwall, ON – Patrick Delafontaine, 29, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 2nd, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with three counts of breach of probation and three counts of breach of release order. It is alleged that between April 21st and June 29th, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to notify the probation office of any change of address or employment, and to report to within two days of his release from custody. He failed to do so and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Furthermore, it is alleged that on July 1st, 2023, the man was bound by a release order and a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to communicate with an individual, and not to be within 250 meters of that individual’s address. On this date, the man attended the individual’s address he was prohibited from. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 2nd, 2023, the man was located, the warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED BY DRUGS

Cornwall, ON – Leighann Neff, 41, of Akwesasne, was arrested on July 3rd, 2023, and charged with impaired operation. It is alleged that on July 3rd, 2023, the woman was operating her vehicle under the influence of drugs. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 18th, 2023.

WARRANT, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Gregory David, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested on July 3rd, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of theft under $5000. It is alleged that on June 7th, 2023, the man attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without making an attempt to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Furthermore, on June 10th, 2023, the man attended the same business, selected merchandise, and left the store without making an attempt to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 3rd, 2023, the man attended the Port of Entry and was taken into custody by CBSA. He was turned over to police, the warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
