THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH 

            Cornwall, ON – Craig Hopkins, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on August 16th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 28th, 2021 the man removed merchandise from a Ninth Street store making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 16th, 2021 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 21st, 2021. 

CAUSE DISTURBANCE, RESIST ARREST, BREACH 

            Cornwall, ON – Stephane Deguire, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on August 17th, 2021 and charged with causing a disturbance, resist arrest and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of August 17th, 2021 police were called to a disturbance in the area of Albert Street. Once on scene they located the man causing a disturbance by yelling and screaming. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
