Cornwall, ON - On Saturday, July 8, 2023 at approximately 8:20pm, the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) responded to a disturbance in the area of Fourteenth Street West and Vincent Massey Drive.

An altercation had ensued between parties known to each other, resulting in a shooting. Three involved individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Their condition remains stable.

Several individuals have been taken into custody, with the investigation remaining ongoing. Further details on the nature of the arrests will be disclosed at a later time. 

The incident was isolated in nature and police do not believe there is any further risk to public safety. 

“The incident in question is concerning and alarming to members of our community,” said Acting Chief of Police Vincent Foy. “It is important to note these occurrences are rare in the City of Cornwall and that our police service is continuously working to keep our community safe. We have dedicated appropriate resources to actively investigate this incident and are working  closely with our law enforcement partners. We appreciate the patience of the public as we investigate this incident.”
