FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 61-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 20, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on June 1, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not be anywhere she may be. It is also alleged on this date, the man communicated with his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 20, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 11, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FRAUD

Cornwall, ON – Glenn Madden, 53, of Cornwall, was arrested on June 20, 2024, and charged with fraud under $5,000. It is alleged on May 11, 2024, the man deposited a fraudulent cheque. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 20, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 8, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Daytin Watson, 21, of Moose Creek, was arrested on June 20, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on June 20, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not be in the company of, or communicate with females under the age of 16 years. On June 20, 2024, police responded to an unwanted person call and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was in contact with a female under the age of 16 years. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Tina Point, 52, of Akwesasne, was arrested on June 20, 2024, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 23, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. It is also alleged that later on May 23, 2024, the woman attended the same Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store, once again without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 20, 2024, police located the woman. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 25, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 21, 2024, and charged with domestic assault and assault causing bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle. It is alleged on June 20, 2024, the man assaulted and choked his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Later, on June 21, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 23, 2024.
