FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 13, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice. It is alleged on Dec. 7, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend the Cornwall Police Service for fingerprinting and failed to do so. In the early morning hours of Dec. 13, 2025, officers were dispatched for an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.

MISCHIEF, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Dec. 13, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Domestic assault
  • Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Take motor vehicle without consent
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Operation while impaired
  • Over 80

In the early morning hours of Dec. 13, 2025, police responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Dec. 13, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he assaulted his girlfriend, choked the woman, damaged her property and took her motor vehicle without consent. The man was subsequently located by CPS officers and further investigation revealed he was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 13, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking and assault with intent to resist arrest. On Dec. 13, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not enter the areas of a specific address. She was located by police and it is further alleged the youth resisted arrest and assaulted an officer. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 14, 2025, and charged with operation while impaired and over 80. In the early morning hours of Dec. 14, 2025, CPS officers were dispatched to the area of Tenth Street East for a possible impaired driver, and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by police and the investigation revealed she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2026.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 14, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Nov. 10, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not communicate with his mother and to not be within 100 metres of anywhere she lives or frequents. It is also alleged on this date, the man communicated with his mother and attended her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On Dec. 14, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 15, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 14, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with release order as well as theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 27, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or be within 50 metres of a specific individual. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, with the individual he was prohibited from contacting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A CPS Community Safety Officer subsequently developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Dec. 14, 2025, he was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Monkland was arrested on Dec. 15, 2025, and charged with operation while impaired and over 80. In the early morning hours of Dec. 15, 2025, a CPS officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Second Street West. A traffic stop was initiated by the officer as a result of a Highway Traffic Act infraction, and further investigation revealed the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2026.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 171 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
