TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN NUMEROUS DRUG CHARGES
Cornwall, ON – In the early morning hours of Dec. 24, 2025, a member of the Cornwall Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the area of First Street East, and an investigation ensued.
As a result of the investigation, three individuals were taken into custody and members of the CPS confiscated a variety of drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Fail to attend for fingerprints
- Fail to attend for court
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
It is alleged on April 16, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on Aug. 19, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest. Finally, it is alleged on Dec. 24, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:
- Six counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
It is alleged on July 10, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for the man’s arrest.
It is also alleged the man was twice bound by two separate probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged between June 5, 2025, and Oct. 29, 2025, he was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
Finally, a 30-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
It is also alleged on Dec. 24, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The individuals were taken into custody, the warrants were executed and they were charged accordingly. All were held for bail hearings.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 24, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 7, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 24, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Jan. 29, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 24, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order as well as theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 20, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman approached an individual at a Ninth Street West business and stole her wallet. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police formed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Dec. 24, 2025, she was located by police, who were dealing with a separate matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.
ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 24, 2025, and charged with assault a peace officer. It is alleged on Dec. 24, 2025, the man assaulted a peace officer at the Canada Border Services Agency. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody by members of the CPS and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Jan. 26, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 25, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault. In the early morning hours of Dec. 25, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he assaulted his girlfriend. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 25, 2025, and charged with domestic assault and domestic mischief. It is alleged on Dec. 25, 2025, the man beat up his girlfriend and damaged her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by a member of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 25, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and mischief under $5,000. On Dec. 25, 2025, police were dispatched to a mischief call at a McConnell Avenue business, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he damaged property at the business. The man was subsequently located by members of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.
WARRANT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, ASSAULT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 27, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:
- Forcible confinement
- Assault
- Criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate
- Uttering threats to damage property
On Nov. 12, 2024, an intimate partner violence complaint was reported to the CPS, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on July 26, 2024, the man prevented his girlfriend from leaving and assaulted the woman’s son. It is further alleged he threatened to go to his girlfriend’s home and break down her door, and he continued to send unwanted messages to the woman despite her repeated requests to stop. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. In the early morning hours of Dec. 27, 2025, he was located by police, who were dealing with an unrelated matter. The man was taken into custody, the warrant was executed and he was charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 27, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 16, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 27, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Jan. 29, 2026.

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 27, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 7, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 27, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Jan. 29, 2026.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 73-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 27, 2025, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Nov. 14, 2025, the woman assaulted a youth. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Dec. 27, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 3, 2026.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from St. Regis, QC, was arrested on Dec. 28, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of assault. It is alleged on Nov. 18, 2025, the youth was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not communicate or be in the presence of a specific individual. It is further alleged on this date, the youth assaulted the individual she was prohibited from contacting. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Dec. 28, 2025, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was subsequently released to appear in court at a later date.
