FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 20, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with prohibition regarding children. It is alleged on Jan. 9, 2026, the man was bound by a prohibition order with the relevant condition to not have any contact with a person under the age of 16, with specific exceptions. It is further alleged on this date, the man was left unsupervised in the presence of a child under the age of 16. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a Cornwall Police Service officer developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Jan. 20, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 26, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 20, 2026, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Jan. 15, 2026, the man caused damage to property at a healthcare facility. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 20, 2026, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 4, 2026.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 20, 2026, and charged with breach of recognizance and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on Jan. 20, 2026, the youth was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the youth threatened to kill another student. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was subsequently released to appear in court at a later date.
