FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 22, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Dec. 18, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with his surety at a specific address and to remain in the residence at all times. It is further alleged the man breached the conditions of his release order. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Jan. 22, 2026, the man attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 22, 2026, and charged with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle as well as domestic mischief. On Jan. 17, 2026, police responded to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man choked his girlfriend and punched a hole in the wall. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Jan. 22, 2026, CPS officers responded to an intimate partner violence call and subsequently located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 17, 2026.
