WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 12, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Two counts of domestic assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate

On July 26, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on July 26, 2025, the man punched his girlfriend and choked her. Further investigation revealed a history of intimate partner violence. It is alleged on June 7, 2025, the man choked his girlfriend; on July 18, 2025, he assaulted her with an object; and on July 21, 2025, he slapped her. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

In the early hours of Nov. 4, 2025, police responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was once again bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the man continuously attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and communicated with the woman.

On Nov. 12, 2025, police located the man at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Ottawa was arrested on Nov. 12, 2025, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 17, 2025, and again on July 19, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store on both occasions without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 12, 2025, the woman was located at the courthouse. She was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.  

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 12, 2025, and charged with assault. On Nov. 12, 2025, a CPS officer attended a local high school in regards to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed that on this date, the youth assaulted another individual at school. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.  

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 12, 2025, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprinting as per undertaking. It is alleged on Oct. 22, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. On Nov. 12, 2025, the man attended the CPS to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 11, 2025.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 66 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
