FAIL TO COMPY

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with release order. On Nov. 4, 2025, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to an intimate partner violence bail complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Oct. 9, 2025, and again on Nov. 1, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate by any physical, electronic or other means with his ex-spouse. It is also alleged the man communicated with the woman on these dates. Police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Nov. 14, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, and charged with assault with a weapon – domestic. On Nov. 14, 2025, police were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman struck her spouse in the face with an object. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  •  Two counts of breach of recognizance
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

On Nov. 4, 2025, police were dispatched to a Ninth Street East business in relation to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street East business. She was also bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to not attend the specific Ninth Street East business. Furthermore, she was bound by two separate recognizances, with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend the specific Ninth Street East business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended the Ninth Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Nov. 14, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who conducted a traffic stop. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with sentence order and two counts of breach of recognizance. It is alleged on Nov. 12, 2025, and Nov. 13, 2025, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant conditions to stay in his residence from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. as well as a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he breached his curfew on both dates. On Nov. 14, 2025, the youth was located by police. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Oct. 16, 2025, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

As a result of the investigations, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. In the early morning hours of Nov. 15, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 16, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 15, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 22, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the bail supervision program. He failed to do so, and police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Nov. 15, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who conducted a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 16, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 15, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Nov. 4, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Nov. 15, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 15, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged from Sept. 24, 2022, to Aug. 26, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer and to attend and actively participate in all assessment, counselling and rehabilitative programs as directed by the probation officer. He failed to do so, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On Nov. 15, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was investigating an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 16, 2025.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on Nov. 15, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Nov. 15, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Dec. 16, 2025.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 16, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Oct. 3, 2025, the youth attended a Pitt Street convenience store, selected merchandise and left the business without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 16, 2025, the individual was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 16, 2025, and charged with six counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Nov. 14, 2025, and again on Nov. 15, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not be within 100 metres of any place her ex-boyfriend lives, works, frequents or any place she knows him to be. The woman was also bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on each of these dates, the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence and communicated with him. On Nov. 16, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 30, 2025.

FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT, IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Alexandria was arrested on Nov. 17, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to stop after accident
  • Impaired operation
  • Over 80

In the early morning hours of Nov. 17, 2025, a CPS cruiser was sideswiped by an individual, who fled the scene following the motor vehicle collision. The man was subsequently located by police, and the ensuing investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 2, 2025. The CPS officer did not sustain physical injuries.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 202 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
