ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, and charged with assault with a weapon. On Oct. 6, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his ex-wife with a door. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Oct. 10, 2025, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged from Oct. 1, 2025, to Oct. 7, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer. He failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 10, 2025, the man was taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Oct. 10, 2025, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was later located by a CPS officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Winchester, ON, was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, and charged with assault. On Oct. 10, 2025, police were dispatched to a Brookdale Avenue business for a shoplifting complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted a Loss Prevention Officer at the business. He was located by a CPS officer, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was later released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025. 

WARRANT, FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 28, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend the CPS for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 10, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 10, 2025, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with release order. On Oct. 10, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate with her ex-spouse, to not be within 100 metres of his residence and to not attend a specific address. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended her ex-spouse’s residence and communicated with the man. Police were contacted and the woman fled the scene. She was later located by a CPS officer and taken into custody. The woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, DANGEROUS OPERATION

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 11, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – over 80
  • Dangerous operation

In the early morning hours of Oct. 11, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Seventh Street West and York Street, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was operating a motor vehicle dangerously prior to a single-vehicle collision. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 4, 2025.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 11, 2025, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on March 24, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. It is also alleged on May 5, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.  

On Oct. 11, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 11, 2025, and charged with assault. It is alleged on March 11, 2025, the man assaulted a Loss Prevention Officer at a Ninth Street East business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 11, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand. In the early morning hours of Oct. 12, 2025, police were conducting night patrol at a local establishment in the area of Pitt Street, and began investigating an impaired driver complaint. The ensuing investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the man allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 18, 2025. 

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. In the early morning hours of Oct. 12, 2025, a member of the CPS conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle which was allegedly operating with no headlights turned on, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 4, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 4, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Oct. 12, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, and she was released to appear in court on Nov. 18, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old woman from Ottawa was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Oct. 12, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate with her ex-boyfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place she knows him to live, work or frequent. On Oct. 12, 2025, members of the CPS were on general patrol and observed the woman to be in in contact with her ex-boyfriend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 2, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 12, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 29, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 12, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer who was dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – On Oct. 12, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an unwanted persons complaint, and an investigation ensued. As a result, three individuals were arrested:

  • A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with mischief – destroys or damages property.
  • A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with mischief – destroys or damages property.
  • A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with fail to comply with probation order as well as mischief – destroys or damages property. It is alleged on Oct. 12, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Furthermore, it is alleged on Oct. 12, 2025, the three individuals erected tents on an individual’s private property. They were located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. They were released to each appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Sept. 16, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. It is also alleged on Oct. 2, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for her arrest. On Oct. 12, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrants were executed, and she was released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, RESIST PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of break and enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Resist peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of break-in instruments

It is alleged on Sept. 23, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he broke into an individual’s residence and stole a bicycle and other items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is also alleged on Sept. 25, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, he broke into an individual’s garage and stole a bicycle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Oct. 12, 2025, the man was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, while on general patrol, a CPS officer observed a man known to police riding a bicycle. A brief pursuit ensued, and he was subsequently apprehended by police. Further investigation revealed the man was in possession of a stolen bicycle as well as break-in tools.

He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Oct. 12, 2025, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.  

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 12, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Oct. 12, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as an undertaking with the relevant condition to not go within 200 metres of a specific address. On Oct. 12, 2025, while dealing with a separate matter, a CPS officer observed the man at the address he was prohibited from attending. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 18, 2025.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 201 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the long weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
