AKWESASNE MAN FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES IN RELATION TO PROJECT FESTER
Cornwall, ON – Dustin George, 36, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Oct. 27, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- Trafficking in firearm, weapon, device or ammunition
- Transfer firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon without authority
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtain by crime
- Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Poss of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
In September 2024, the Cornwall Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police-led Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) launched Project FESTER to investigate alleged drug and firearms trafficking within the City of Cornwall. Two criminal networks were identified – one allegedly trafficking illicit substances in the City of Cornwall, and a second allegedly trafficking firearms in Ottawa and Akwesasne.
On Oct. 8, 2025, six search warrants were executed in Cornwall, Ottawa and Akwesasne. As a result, 35 illegal firearms were seized as well as more than $2 million in drugs – including cocaine and fentanyl. Fifteen individuals were arrested, and warrants were issued for five others.
On Oct. 27, 2025, the man was located by CPS officers at a detention centre. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held in Cornwall for a bail hearing.
WARRANTS
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Longueuil, QC, was arrested on Oct. 27, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants.
It is alleged on Nov. 7, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
It is also alleged on Feb. 6, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
Finally, it is alleged on March 26, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. Another warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Oct. 27, 2025, the woman was taken into custody by members of the Ottawa Police Service and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrants were executed, and she was held for a bail hearing.
BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old man from Long Sault was arrested on Oct. 27, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
- Two counts of theft under $5,000
- Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
On Oct. 8, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to a landlord/tenant complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Oct. 8, 2025, the man entered the complainant’s apartment, removed her belongings and left the items outside, where they were subsequently damaged by rain. As a result of the investigation, police formed reasonable and probably grounds for the man’s arrest. On Oct. 27, 2025, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 2, 2025.
POSSESSION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER, THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 27, 2025, and charged with two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order as well as one count of theft under $5,000.
On July 20, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to a weapons call. It is alleged on July 20, 2025, the man was bound by a weapons prohibition order, as he was in possession of a BB gun and ammunition. An investigation ensued.
Furthermore, it is alleged on Oct. 27, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on Dec. 2, 2025.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 28, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Breach of recognizance
- Operation while impaired
- Over 80
In the early morning hours of Oct. 28, 2025, a CPS officer was conducting Lidar Speed Enforcement in the area of McConnel Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop in relation to an Highway Traffic Act infraction, and an investigation ensued. Further investigation revealed the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 18, 2025.
CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 83 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
