FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged on July 6, 2025, and again on July 23, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not attend a Ninth Street West business, as well as a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on each of these dates, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A member of the Cornwall Police Service subsequently developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.
On Oct. 2, 2025, the man was located at the courthouse. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 1, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 2, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with two counts of domestic assault. It is alleged on Sept. 28, 2025, the woman assaulted her ex-spouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 2, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman once again assaulted her ex-spouse. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Oct. 2, 2025, the youth assaulted an individual at school. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located by police and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.
WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on July 23, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to report to the CPS. It is also alleged on this date, the man failed to report to the CPS. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On Oct. 2, 2025, the man was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Three counts of domestic assault
- Assault
- Sexual assault
- Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strange
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
On Oct. 2, 2025, police were dispatched to a historical intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man assaulted his spouse on several occasions and additionally assaulted their son. Furthermore, it is alleged he sexually assaulted, chocked and made threats to his spouse. Later, on Oct. 2, 2025, the man was located by a member of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DISTRIBUTES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, MAKE SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL AVAILABLE, PUBLICATION OF INTIMATE IMAGE WITHOUT CONSENT
Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Imports, distributes, sells or possession for the purpose of distribution or sale any child pornography
- Make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age
- Publication of an intimate image without consent
It is alleged the youth uploaded explicit images of a person under the age of 16 years to social media. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued, led by the CPS’ Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. Reasonable and probable grounds were subsequently developed for the youth’s arrest. On Oct. 2, 2025, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. They were taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 24, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 2, 2025, a CPS officer was dispatched to a Brookdale Avenue business for a shoplifting incident. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Oct. 2, 2025, police were dispatched to the area of Brookdale Avenue for an impaired driver complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police and the investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.
