WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 2, 2025, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Sept. 10, 2025, the youth attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and the youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 21, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sept. 10, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old man from Montreal was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 17, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sept. 10, 2025, the man was taken into custody in Quebec for unrelated matters and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.

THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Aug. 30, 2025, the man stole a bicycle from an individual’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 10, 2025, police responded to a suspicious person complaint and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.

OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

On Sept. 10, 2025, while conducting patrol, a CPS officer observed a vehicle pass by, and the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) notified him that the license plate was stolen. A brief pursuit ensued, and an investigation followed. It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2025, the man obstructed police. Further investigation revealed that in addition to being in possession of a stolen license plate, the man was also in possession of drugs. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, and charged with assault with a weapon. On Sept. 10, 2025, police responded to a motor vehicle collision and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man struck an individual known to him, who was on a motorcycle, with his motor vehicle. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Oct. 16, 2025.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – On Sept. 10, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to a shoplifting incident, and an investigation ensued. As a result, two individuals were arrested:

  • A 40-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
  • A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Sept. 10, 2025, the individuals attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The individuals were located, taken into custody and each charged accordingly. They were released to each appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 68 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
