SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Laura Buckley, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on Apr. 05, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation. It is alleged on Apr. 05, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear on court on May 16, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS, WEAPONS, FAIL TO COMPLY, WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on Apr. 06, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following;

  • Two counts of uttering threats
  • Two counts of mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Assault
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of break and enter
  • Five counts of failing to comply with release order

It is alleged on Feb. 13, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend or be within a certain distance of where she may be. It is alleged that on this date, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, communicated with her, uttered threats, brandished and edged weapon and caused damage to her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.  It is also alleged on March 25, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend, to not be within a specific distance of where she may be, and to notify police of any change of address. On this date, it is alleged the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence causing damage to the property, assaulted, choked, and struck her with a household item. Police contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man had changed addresses and failed to notify police.  Furthermore, it is alleged on March 27, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend. On this date, it is alleged the man sent threatening text messages to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Apr. 06, 2024, the man was located and taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Caleb Mathewson, 28, of Cornwall, was arrested on Apr. 06, 2024, and charged with the following;

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Two counts of failing to comply with probation

It is alleged on Apr. 06, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons. It is alleged on Apr 06, 2024, the man assaulted another individual and caused damage to that person’s property. Police were contacted an and investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was in possession of an edged-weapon. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Darryl Markell, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on Apr. 06, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying. He was taken into custody by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 07, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Laplante, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on Apr. 06, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on this date, the woman attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – Cassandra Duplessis, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on Apr. 07, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Apr. 07, 2024, the woman damaged property at a Sydney Street establishment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 16, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Michael Johnston, 55, it is alleged on Feb. 23, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without paying. Police were contacted. It is also alleged on March 25, 2024, the man attended a Sydney Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation was ensued by members of the Community Patrol Support Unit, resulting in the man being identified. Furthermore, on Apr. 07, 2024, it is alleged the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay. He was taken into custody by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 06, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old man of Williamstown was arrested on April 07, 2024, and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on April 07, 2024, the man punched his wife and assaulted her with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on April 30, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on Apr. 07, 2024, and charged with failing to comply with release order. It is alleged on Apr. 07, 2024, the youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in their residence between specific times and failed to do so. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police and turned over to CPS. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The youth’s name was not released as per the provisions on the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
