FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged from July 24, 2025, to Jan. 14, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer. She failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order. On March 31, 2026, the woman was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer, who as on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on May 7, 2026.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 12, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On March 31, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a police assistance call, and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on May 7, 2026.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order and assault.

In the early morning hours of March 13, 2026, CPS officers responded to a suspicious person complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his house at all times. It is further alleged the man failed to remain in his residence and as a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On March 31, 2026, police responded to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted an individual known to him. The man was subsequently located by CPS officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Feb. 10, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On March 31, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Break and enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

On March 31, 2026, members of the CPS were dispatched to a Second Street East building in regards to a break and enter, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons. It is further alleged the man broke into a Second Street East building, was in possession of a bamboo stick and assaulted an individual. He was subsequently located by police. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026. 

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on March 31, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 29, 2019, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court. On March 31, 2026, the woman was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 31, 2026, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on March 31, 2026, the man threatened to harm his neighbour. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. The man was subsequently located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.
