SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 1, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on April 1, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old woman from Drummondville, QC, was arrested on April 1, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on Dec. 18 and Dec. 20, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store on both occasions without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is further alleged on April 1, 2026, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was taken into custody by the Loss Prevention Officer at the business and subsequently turned over to a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 7, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM
Cornwall, ON – On April 1, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued.
As a result, a 16-year-old male youth from Cornwall was arrested and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with release order
- Domestic assault
- Domestic assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
It is alleged on April 1, 2026, the male youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence between specific hours. It is further alleged he assaulted and choked his girlfriend at her residence.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old female youth from Cornwall was arrested and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on this date, the female youth assaulted her boyfriend.
The two individuals were located, taken into custody and each charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They were held for bail hearings.
