WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Avonmore was arrested on April 18, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on March 13, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend the Cornwall Police Service for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 18, 2025, the man was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on May 20, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 19, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
  • Domestic assault

It is alleged on March 13, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected multiple items and consumed the food without making an attempt to pay for the merchandise. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is also alleged on April 19, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, police responded to a domestic dispute and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on April 19, 2025, the man assaulted his girlfriend. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 20, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on March 12, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. It is also alleged on March 20, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 20, 2025, the woman was arrested by the OPP and subsequently turned over to members of the CPS. The warrants were executed, and she was released to appear in court on May 15, 2025.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 21, 2025, and charged with criminal harassment – beset and watch person known to complainant. It is alleged on April 5, 2025, the man parked his motor vehicle across the street from his ex-girlfriend’s residence and watched her home. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. In the early morning hours of April 21, 2025, a member of the CPS conducted a traffic stop and the man was located. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 13, 2025.

THEFT OF CREDIT CARD

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 21, 2025, and charged with theft of credit card. It is alleged on Feb. 17, 2025, the man stole gas cards from an unlocked motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 21, 2025, he was located by a member of the CPS who was dealing with a separate matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 21, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 23, 2023, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 21, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer was dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed, and he was held for a bail hearing.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 21, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
  • Uttering threats to damage property

On April 21, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not contact his spouse, to not be within 250 metres of any place she may be and to reside at a specific address or notify the CPS of any change of address within 24 hours. Furthermore, it is alleged the man threatened to harm his spouse and damage her property. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 274 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the four-day long weekend hours (8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. today).
