CORNWALL MAN FACES 20 CHARGES IN HATE MOTIVATED CRIME
Cornwall, ON – On April 17, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to a hate motivated crime and an investigation ensued.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 23, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Three counts of breach of recognizance
- Six counts of criminal harassment – threatening conduct
- Mischief under $5,000
- Six counts of mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Six counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
It is alleged on three separate occasions from April 13-18, 2025, the man was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
It is alleged he harassed his neighbour and her children because of their heritage. It is also alleged he vandalized his neighbour’s motor vehicle and spat on the car. Furthermore, it is alleged he interfered with the family’s use and enjoyment of their property.
Finally, it is alleged, the man made threatening and racially motivated comments toward the victims.
Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On April 23, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on April 23, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice. It is alleged on Feb. 24, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. On April 23, 2025, the woman attended the CPS to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.
IMPAIRED, REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and failure or refusal to comply with demand. On April 24, 2025, members of the CPS were conducting sobriety spot checks in the City of Cornwall and as a result, a traffic stop was initiated in the area of Cumberland Street and Ninth Street West. An investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the woman allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 23, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with 15 counts of fail to comply with probation order and 15 counts of theft under $5,000.
- It is alleged on Oct. 24, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.

It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Oct. 29, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Oct. 29, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended another Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Nov. 28, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Jan. 9, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she stole a cell phone from an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Jan. 21, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
- It is alleged on Feb. 10, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on Feb. 21, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on March 4, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on March 12, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on March 16, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on March 19, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on March 29, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- It is alleged on April 7, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On April 23, 2025, the woman was taken into custody by a Loss Prevention Officer at a Ninth Street East business and subsequently turned over to a member of the CPS. The warrants were executed, and she was charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.
