SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 57-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 23, 2025, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 20, 2025, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. It is alleged that later on March 20, 2025, the man once again attended the same Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 23, 2025, he attended the Cornwall Police Service to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.

POSSESION, ACCESS AND DISTRIBUTES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Access any child pornography
  • Imports, distributes, sells or possession for the purpose of distribution or sale any child pornography

The CPS, led by its Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) unit, began an investigation in February 2025. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of child pornography, had access to child pornography and distributed child pornography.

On April 24, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The man is being prosecuted under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because the offense occurred before he turned 18.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Aug. 9, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate, directly or indirectly, with her ex-boyfriend. It is also alleged on this date, she communicated with her ex-boyfriend via social media. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for the woman’s arrest. On April 24, 2025, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 29, 2025.

WARRANTS, FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:

  • 38 counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to comply with appearance notice
  • Fail to attend court as per undertaking
  • 11 counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged between Feb. 11, 2025, and April 14, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer immediately after his release from custody. He failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

It is alleged on March 9, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on March 17, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so.

It is also alleged on March 17, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on March 19, 2025, the man was bound by two probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on March 29, 2025, the man was bound by two probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on April 8, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be within 30 metres of a specific Ninth Street West business. Finally, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on April 10, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be within 30 metres of a specific Ninth Street West business. Finally, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is also alleged on April 10, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended another Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on April 10, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend another Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged he was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended another Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is alleged on April 22, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 24, 2025, the man was located by a member of the Criminal Investigation Division. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to attend court
  • Three counts of theft under $5,000

It is alleged on Feb. 11, 2025, the woman stole a cell phone and wallet from an individual at a Water Street facility. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

It is also alleged on Feb. 21, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the woman attended a Pitt Street facility and stole numerous items from two individuals. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Finally, it is alleged on April 2, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

On April 24, 2025, a member of the CPS attended a Ninth Street East business for a person welfare check. The woman was located and taken into custody. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 20, 2025.
