FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Paige Lamoy, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 25, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on April 18, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a specific business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended the business on Second Street East, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 25, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Bergeron, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 25, 2024, and charged with cruelty to animals - unnecessary pain, suffering or injury. It is alleged on April 6, 2024, the man assaulted his dog. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 25, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.

UTTERING THREATS, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 25, 2024, and charged with three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose. It is alleged on April 25, 2024, the man made several threats to kill his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged he brandished a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 25, 2024, and charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose. It is alleged on April 25, 2024, the youth brandished a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Albert Cella, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 26, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on April 26, 2024, the man damaged the property of an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on May 30, 2024.
