BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF WEAPON, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISTRIBUTING
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 24, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Three counts of breach of recognizance
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Possession for the purpose of distributing
On April 24, 2025, the Cornwall Police Service’s Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the area of Prince Arthur Street and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a recognizance with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not possess prohibited weapons and to not possess knives.
Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was in possession of an unauthorized weapon as well as drugs. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT, IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 26, 2025, and charged with failure to stop after accident and impaired operation, over 80. On April 26, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to the area of Glengarry Boulevard for a fail to remain complaint. It is alleged on this date, the woman was involved in a motor vehicle collision and failed to remain at the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was later located by police and the investigation revealed she was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 20, 2025.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 26, 2025, and charged with criminal harassment – threatening conduct. It is alleged on April 25, 2025, the man sent harassing messages with threatening conduct to his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 26, 2025, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 20, 2025.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 26, 2025, and charged with criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate. It is alleged on April 25, 2025, the woman repeatedly communicated with an individual known to her, harassing the man. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 26, 2025, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 3, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Montreal was arrested on April 27, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on April 27, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not possess any identification not in his name in addition to banking information. On April 27, 2025, the man attended the Port of Entry and was allegedly in possession of documents issued in the name of another person. He was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, ROBBERY WITH THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 27, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Four counts of fail to comply with undertaking
- Four counts of fail to comply with release order
- Robbery with theft
It is alleged on April 25, 2025, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend, to not attend her address or be within 100 metres where she is known to be, to reside at a specific address and to notify the CPS of any change of address within 24 hours. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside at a specific address, to notify the CPS of any change of address within 24 hours, to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not be within 100 metres of his ex-girlfriend. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, assaulted the woman and robbed her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed the man failed to reside at the specific address and failed to notify the CPS of the change of address. On April 27, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FALSE ALARM OF FIRE
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 28, 2025, and charged with false alarm of fire. On April 28, 2025, the man attended police headquarters and while waiting for his girlfriend, it is alleged, he pulled the fire alarm. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 3, 2025.
CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 185 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
