DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Three counts of domestic assault
• Three counts of domestic assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Criminal harassment – repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
• Two counts of operation while prohibited
• Domestic mischief
• Uttering threats to damage property

On Aug. 8, 2026, a CPS officer began investigating a harassment complaint. It is alleged on three separate occasions, the man assaulted his spouse and on three other occasions, he assaulted the woman with a weapon. The man was also allegedly in possession of an edged weapon for a dangerous purpose. The investigation further alleges the man harassed his spouse by engaging in conduct that caused the woman to fear for her safety, operated a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so, punched holes in the walls damaging her property, and threatened to burn down her home. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Aug. 10, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Long Sault was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 30, 2026, the man assaulted his ex-spouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of domestic assault. On Aug. 10, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Alexandria was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on April 3, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court while on release order. On Aug. 10, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT, MISCHIEF, POSSESSION BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Morrisburg was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Break and enter a dwelling house – commit indictable offence
• Theft over $5,000
• Mischief under $5,000
• Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
• Possession of break-in instruments

In the early morning hours of June 26, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a Seventh Street West business in relation to a break and enter, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the man broke into the business, stole numerous items and damaged property. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On Aug. 10, 2026, police were dispatched to a break and enter in progress, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he was in possession of break-in tools and broke into a vacant home. The man was located by police and after a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DANGEROUS OPERATION, IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 72-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, and charged with the following:

• Dangerous operation
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Aug. 10, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man operated his motor vehicle in a manner that was dangerous to the public. Further investigation revealed he operated his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 27, 2026.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, ARSON

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 10, 2026, and charged with assault causing bodily harm and arson – damage to property.

On July 17, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to investigate an assault complaint. It is alleged on this date, the youth assaulted an individual known to him causing injuries. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On Aug. 6, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate an arson. It is alleged on this date, the youth deliberately set fire to a bale of cardboard outside a Ninth Street West business. As a result of the investigation, police once again developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

On Aug. 10, 2026, the youth was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 11, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and mischief under $5,000. In the early morning hours of Aug. 11, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a mischief complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he damaged property at a Vincent Massey Drive business. The man was subsequently located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
