BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 11, 2026, and charged with breach of recognizance. On Aug. 11, 2026, the woman attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters in relation to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, she was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate in any way with her ex-spouse. It is further alleged the woman was in communication with her ex-spouse. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 15, 2026.

HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 11, 2026, and charged with harassing communications. It is alleged on this date, the man harassed his ex-spouse by sending her repeated communications. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Later on Aug. 11, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.

THEFT, IDENTITY THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Kingston, ON, was arrested on Aug. 11, 2026, and charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and nine counts of identity theft – obtain or possess another person’s identity information. On May 21, 2026, CPS officers began investigating a fraud complaint. It is alleged from July 17, 2025, to May 7, 2026, the woman defrauded a Second Street East business of more than $5,000 – using a total of nine identities to commit this fraud. As a result of the investigation, a CPS detective developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Aug. 11, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
