FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 13, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 4, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court as per undertaking. On Aug. 13, 2026, the woman was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and she was later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 67-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 13, 2026, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Aug. 12, 2026, the man spit on an individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Aug. 13, 2026, the man was located by CPS officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 13, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting as well as assault with intent to resist arrest. It is alleged on Aug. 13, 2026, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged he assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into police custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 13, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on June 4, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into police custody and charged accordingly. She was later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 14, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault with a weapon. On Aug. 14, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he assaulted his ex-spouse with a household item. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 14, 2026, and charged with harassing communications. On Aug. 10, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged between Aug. 7, 2026, and Aug. 9, 2026, the woman harassed her ex-boyfriend by repeatedly communicating with the man by means of telecommunication. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Aug. 14, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 14, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Aug. 14, 2026, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 14, 2026, and charged with mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property. On Aug. 5, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a neighbour dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man interfered with his neighbour’s lawful use of property. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Aug. 14, 2026, the man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 14, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon as well as uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On Aug. 13, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman assaulted an individual known to her with a door. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. It is further alleged that later on Aug. 13, 2026, the woman threatened to physically harm another individual known to her. Police were once again contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 14, 2026, she was located by CPS officers. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 15, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding probation warrant. It is alleged between July 25, 2024, and Aug. 16, 2025, the man was bound by two probation orders with the relevant conditions to attend and actively participate in all assessment, counselling or rehabilitative programs as directed by the probation officer, to provide proof of attendance and completion of any assessments, counselling or rehabilitative programs as directed and to make restitution to a business in the City of Cornwall. It is further alleged the man failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of five counts of fail to comply with probation order. In the early morning hours of Aug. 15, 2026, the man was located by CPS officers, who were dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Sept. 22, 2026.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 15, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). In the early morning hours of Aug. 15, 2026, police were dispatched to a possible impaired driver complaint, and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located, and the investigation revealed she was allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 16, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with sentence order and possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order. In the early morning hours of Aug. 16, 2026, police were dispatched to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant condition to obey a curfew as well as a prohibition order with the relevant condition to not possess a firearm or ammunition. It is further alleged the youth breached his curfew and was in possession of ammunition. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 16, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on May 21, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.
It is also alleged on June 5, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
In the early morning hours of Aug. 16, 2026, the woman was located and taken into custody by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, DANGEROUS OPERATION, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER, RESIST PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 16, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Four counts of operation while prohibited
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from peace officer
- Resist peace officer
On Aug. 16, 2026, a CPS officer was conducting general patrol in the City of Cornwall when he observed a motorcycle driving erratically. An investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man drove a motor vehicle in a manner that was dangerous to the public, failed to stop for a peace officer and resisted arrest. Further investigation revealed he was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. The man was subsequently apprehended and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Gatineau, QC, was arrested on Aug. 16, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). On Aug. 16, 2026, the woman was taken into custody by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The ensuing investigation revealed she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The woman was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 16, 2026, and charged with mischief under $5,000. On July 22, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a mischief complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on July 17, 2026, the woman committed mischief by wilfully causing damage to an individual’s motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Aug. 16, 2026, the woman was located and taken into custody by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
